As the album name implies this is an "Extra" album of previously unreleased tracks from the last two years. Driven by a couple of reoccurring motifs that have been stuck in my head for years.

The tracks are mostly ambient loops that feature midi pads and sampling in the background, while having acoustic and electric instruments panned to either stereo side. My acoustic guitar Gus who I have had since I was twelve is featured on most tracks. Electric Bass and Electric Guitar are also featured on some songs. Other instruments include but are not limited to: Accordion, Artiphon Orba, Brand New Noise Loopy Lou (which actually had it's final performance on Spiral Scrap, meaning the wires came loose & I need to fix it) , Kalimba, Melodica , Tambourine , Vocals , My friends & family, Whistling and Random Percussion. The recording was done primarily on a iZotope Spire device. The mixing/mastering was very limited to give you the experience of being in the living room where it was recorded.

Extra Stress Trials is a play on the phrase Extra Terrestrials since Aliens have been a theme or narrative since I have started releasing music. We all have stressors in our life, we all go through trials and tribulations. Releasing this material that I had not done previously is difficult but cathartic. Life is difficult and doesn't always make sense but I try to find patterns or meaning amongst the noise. I hope you enjoy finding something amongst this sonic collection.

One of the people closest to me passed away shortly before the release of the album. My grief is enormous but finishing this album was something I could handle at the time, it helped me cope. I want to dedicate it to their memory and half of all sales/proceeds will go to The Trevor Project.
